I think that same camera shot even occurs during Roger's In the Flesh
DVD from 2000
I'll have to look tomorrow. Some coincidence (rolls eyes)
Jesus, Denise, are you still dropping these dinkleberries of crackpot
"clues?" Do you really desire the negative attention they bring you?
"Stop this nonsense" indeed.
I'm going to prove to you that The Division Bell isn't about you. It's
about me, because guess what? There are fifteen letters in
THEDIVISIONBELL. There are fifteen letters in ERICPAULVINYARD. I was
fifteen the first time I fell in love. The Divison Bell must be about
me and the problems I've had with love. After all, the two heads form
a heart shape...
Let's see. Love. Love. Hmm. There is this girl I met in 2001. (2001,
was, as you know, the same year as in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Stanley
Kubrick wanted Pink Floyd to do the soundtrack, and I heard he synched
the movie up to their music. I'm sure since they did the whole Oz
thing they know about this as well. So they were predicting that
something would happen in 2001 to me, something big...)
This girl, every time I tried to kiss her, she turned away. We were
ALMOST TOUCHING. That was the working title for Cluster One, Almost
Touching...
She was the one who started talking to me in the first place, but
since she wouldn't let me kiss her ever (and yet she would stop by at
like 2 in the morning just to see me) I kept asking WHAT DO YOU WANT
FROM ME. But when I asked her that, she walked out of my door and we
became POLES APART. For years we didn't speak to one another, we were
both MAROONED. We actually went through this cycle a few times, we
would talk again, get close, and then things would become awkward and
our friendship would crumble. It seemed like each time we got back to
being friends it was a GREAT DAY FOR FREEDOM but I was actually
WEARING THE INSIDE OUT. You see, I was not only being too up front
with my emotions (literally wearing my heart outside) but I was also
being destroyed inside because of this cycle.
BUT GUESS WHAT! Today I ran into her again at a concert. At a rock
concert! Today of all days, too, and now I'm writing about the story!
I'm telling the enigma, just like I was told to by the group I saw. I
mean during the show the guy raised his arms at me a lot. I was
standing on a chair in the back and I could see him, he was clearly
rocking out in my direction. The band playing, The Protomen, they're
musicians, they must be in on the whole thing. They knew my story and
what Pink Floyd was up to, so they decided to play in Richmond again
tonight because they know that the last time they played in Richmond
was the last time that Mary and I were friends! She loves The Protomen
and she actually introduced me to them. And she happened to be at the
show tonight, amazing!!!
And I TOOK IT BACK! She asked me if I was still mad at her and I said
no. I took it all back! It's time for me to kill the past and COME
BACK TO LIFE...
So now comes the part where she and I have to KEEP TALKING. But we
might find ourselves LOST FOR WORDS. Still, judging by the smile I saw
on her face, there are HIGH HOPES...
So maybe the Division Bell is about me! Maybe the enigma was created
so that I would come here and realize that The Division Bell fits my
story perfectly... After all, the REAL Publius mentioned taking a
closer look at posts by Evan Coyne Maloney, and guess what he posted
about? He posted that the song titles seemed to work together to tell
a story.
Or maybe Pink Floyd's theme of broken communication is so UNIVERSAL
that ANYONE can apply the basic ideas within these songs to their own
lives. Every Floyd album I've ever listened to, I can identify with in
some way, because that's what Floyd is... it's the goddamned human
experience.
Coincidences are meaningless in and of themselves, especially when you
start reaching for clues as desperately as you do. It took me
literally two seconds of thought to compare the numbers in my name to
the numbers of the title of TDB. Numerology is the lowest of the low
in "proving" significant meaning in coincidence, but I can only
imagine what I could come up with if I spent fourteen years...
